Bear Lake 2009

We just got back from spending a couple of nights in Bear Lake at a cabin (actually 2 cabins) with all 39 members of my family! It was such a BLAST!!! The first night we had a dutch oven dinner, talent show, and improv dance off. I think we finally went to bed around 1 am. We Edwards' can get pretty crazy! The kids were all up around 7 am and we were off to the lake by 10 am. We had a fun day filled with boating, jet skiing, and sand castles. I went skiing for the first time in at least 5 years. I was able to get up on the first try, but immediately wrecked when I tried dropping a ski. It was a lot of fun and brought back a lot of fun childhood memories! That night we had a BBQ and game night. Playing volley ball in immense winds doesn't really work, but we had a lot of good laughs. Wednesday was the unfortunate day to pack up and go home. I think we were all sad to leave and needed at least one more day. But it was a really good time!!! It was fun to see all the cousins together, especially since in a few more years they will start leaving on missions and such! I love these times we can all be together!!
The dutch oven dinner. Amy...I made your rolls and they were a HUGE hit!! So thanks!

Games

The Beach

Owen LOVED the water and sand!

Cute boys!
Thanks to everyone for a great time! And thanks to Thayne and Amber for bringing the boat!!!

Jazz Draft Party

Matt and I took our kids to the first ever Jazz NBA draft party. The kids had fun getting up close and personal with the Jazz Bear and eating free hot dogs and sodas. They had free reign to walk around on the floor with the Jazz Bear, Jazz dancers, and sports announcers (Craig Bolerjack, Ron Boone, Steve Brown, Thurl Bailey, etc). Alli says that free hot dog was the best she's ever eaten! Caden and Taylor also got their jerseys signed by the Jazz Bear. For the price (FREE 99) it was a good time!

4th of July Photo Shoot!

My boys all ended up in their flag tees today, so I made Alli change into her 4th of July shirt so I could take a picture. I planned to take one on the 4th, but knowing me, I would get too busy with the day's activities and forget. So I'm glad I at least got these!

We LOVE the 4th of July!!!!

New Tricks and Random Pics

I know most of my latest posts have been about Owen, but he is growing and changing so fast that I always have something to write about him! So here's the latest...
#1 He has learned to cry when I walk out of the room or when he doesn't get what he wants... immediately!
#2 He can lean, stretch, and roll (and is so close to crawling) to get what he wants...in this instance, the camera case.

#3 Hamming it up for the camera!

#4 We're working on not closing our eyes from the camera flash.

#6 We call this his "bitter beer face." He is feeling his teeth of which he now has 4! Next is "Blue Steel." Oh wait...that was Ben Stiller, not Owen Wilson!

#5 He is starting to pull himself up in his crib. He can stand there for quite some time. I love this picture because he looks like he's mad at Alli for standing in front of him!
He's such a fun baby!!! We are constantly entertained by him!

Not so little

So...maybe Owen has grown out of his little sink tub. What do you think?

End of baseball season! :(

I wrote this post yesterday before Caden's last game...or so I thought. To my happy surprise, Caden's team gets to go to the playoffs. So one more week of baseball (unless they lose of course). It has been so fun to watch Caden and Taylor play this year. They both did really well and I will really look forward to it again next year!!! One serious ball player!
Almost caught that one!

This picture was taken after running home in the rain after Taylor's last game. Matt, Caden, and I had fun running through the POURING rain...the others, not so much! It came down so fast and hard that we got soaked in the short jaunt from the park to our house. Fun times!

Nine!!!!

In May we celebrated Alli's 9th birthday. I can't believe my little girl is that old!!! For her birthday we went shopping and had so much fun together! I'm glad I have one daughter to have girl time with!! Then we got to celebrate with our good friends, the Lallatins. We haven't seen them for 2 years, but they got to come to Utah for a visit and it just happened to be the weekend of Alli's birthday. They came to Kangaroo Zoo with us, had a BBQ, and the girls got to sleep over. It was sooooo fun to see them again!!! We really miss having them as neighbors!! Alli also got to celebrate her birthday at my parents house and again at Matt's parents house on Memorial Day. She is more than spoiled!! :)
My dad's birthday is 4 days before Alli's so they get to celebrate together. Happy Birthday Dad!!

Thanks to my mom for making her yummy chocolate cake!!!

Grandma and the kids.

The sleep over!

All Alli put on her list for her birthday was Wii Ski.

Logyn and Avri gave Alli make up and manicure stuff for her birthday. It made for a great night of entertainment at their sleep over.

My yummy and most creative cake from a box!! Ha ha! :) I just can't ever let my kids see all the amazing cakes some mom's make!

I did "draw" a soccer ball on it! That's gotta count for something...right?!
Hope you had a great birthday Alli!!!
