Pine Wood Derby

Our ward's scouts just had their annual pine wood derby...and guess who took first? That's right my friends...my son! And for all those of you who are thinking "ya, but his dad probably made his car"-You're wrong! Matt cut it, but Caden did everything else. He was pretty proud of himself! Way to go Caden!

Easter

Once again this is a little late in coming...but I need to get all my pictures off my camera and keep this blog up to date! So here is a little about our Easter! It was very low key, which was just perfect for us this year! We enjoyed being home, watching conference, and having our own little Easter egg hunt with the cold weather outside! We're going to Disneyland next week, so the kids got magnetic games in their baskets for the trip to Cali.

Gotta love coloring your lips with robin eggs! It just wouldn't be Easter without it!

I have to say the highlight of Easter (besides Conference ;) was the night before Easter when we went up to Gma and Gpa W's. and they had a hunt for the adults! They hid 100 gold dollars around their house, then turned us loose to find them! With 7 adults finding them, I think Matt and I did pretty good! We went home $23 richer! Chris and Kim made the most...but I'm surprised they didn't end up with any broken bones or a black eye from wrestling Meggan for them! Good times!

Best "HOMER" ever!!!

When I was young I remember watching an episode of "The Simpson's" where Homer gave Marge a bowling ball with his name on it for Christmas or something. After that, whenever anyone gave someone else a gift that benefited the giver, we called it a "Homer." Well...I gave Matt a "Homer" this last Christmas. For some reason, he has always wanted to go to Denver, so I decided to give hime two plane tickets to Denver. I called my friend, Lindsay to see if she wanted to give her husband the same thing. Not only did she want to, but she also said her aunt lived there and that we could stay with her. So began the long wait for March 24th! We had a fun time planning along the way! The day we flew in, we decided to hang out in downtown Denver because we were going to the Broadway play "Mary Poppins" that night. We spent the majority of our time at the 16th street mall. Our first stop...lunch at Hard Rock Cafe.Matt and me at Hard Rock

Skylar and Lindsay at Hard Rock

There was a bus that you could ride up and down 16th street. When we were cold and tired of shopping, we just rode the bus all the way up and back down.

We were so cold, we stopped at Mcdonald's to get shakes!

I really wanted Lindsay's Oreo shake.

Finally it was time to go to "Mary Poppins"!! Matt and I saw this in New York when we went, but it was just as fun the second time and one of the many highlights of the trip!

The next morning we went to the Denver temple, which was only a few minutes away from Lindsay's aunts house. It worked out perfectly.

After the temple we went to Brunswick Zone. I felt like I was back in junior high at 49th street Galleria. We had a lot of fun!! Here we are getting ready to play lazer tag.

Bowling

That night we went to the Melting Pot. This was a new experience for all of us. We liked dessert the best! We just might need to get us a fondu pot!

These guys are professional posers!

This was another highlight of the trip! We met up with Leslie at Panera bread and reminisced about the good old days! She's still as cute as ever! Not to mention an amazing career woman!

Yes...another restraunt! This time we are at the Cheescake Factory. By this point I think we were all stuffed from 3 days of eating out! (Popcorn anyone?!! It's free!)
Yes...that night we went to the movies and ate popcorn even though none of us wanted any! Then we went home and ate our cheesecake!

On our last day there, we spent a little more time in downtown Denver before heading back to the airport. We toured Invesco field where the Denver Broncos play. Here we are in the guest locker room.

All of us!

On the field.
And of course our last stop...FOOD! Really?!!
California Pizza Kitchen!
Between eating, shopping, and sight seeing, we played games and watched HGTV. This ended up being a four date double date!!! SO MUCH FUN!!! Thanks Skylar and Lindsay!!!

bye bye baby!

I've been meaning to do this post for a while now, but just haven't. I want to document these latest happening of our baby who is really just a tiny kid now! Owen absolutely LOVES brushing his teeth! It doesn't matter whose tooth brush he finds...to him it's his!
He no longer has his binky! This was a bitter sweet moment for me! I thought it was going to be really hard to get him off of it, so I was dreading it! In the end it wasn't a fight at all. Three out of four of my kids have taken binkies and we've gotten them off them all the same way. Wait til they have a cold and can't breath with the binky in their mouth. They don't even miss it! Though I'm grateful it was easy, it's just one more thing that confirms he's no longer a baby! :(

He loves listening to my ipod. It's so cute...he loves to dance to the music.

Hates his high chair...loves the bar stool. He's only fallen off once and that's cause he tried to get down by himself.

This is his favorite past time yet...dumping out an entire box of cereal, running to the middle of it, sitting down, and frantically spreading it with his hands. Such a messy waste, but pretty funny! I've had to threaten my other kids that if they leave the pantry open they will have to buy a new box of cereal. It's happened too many times!
I don't have a picture of this yet...but Owen could live outside if I let him! He LOVES to be outside and screams when he has to come in. If any of you have heard Owen's scream...you know it's not to be trifled with! There are serious consequences for making Owen scream!
I love that my baby is getting bigger and becoming such a cute little indepedent boy, but it also makes me sad that baby phase is over. We just love this little guy!!!

Seattle

I'm a little behind on my blogging, but I had to document this one extremely fun event!!! Last month, my awesome husband took a couple days off work to watch the kids so I could fly to Seattle with my friend and mom to visit my sister, Cadie, in Maple Valley, WA. She runs a boutique up there with one of her friends and I have always wanted to go to one. I finally got my chance. For three crazy days, Lindsay and I helped Cadie at the boutique while my mom babysat for her. Doesn't sound like much of a vacation...but it was!!! I had so much fun working with such cute girls without stopping to make lunch, change diapers, or give baths. The best part of all is that when we weren't working (if you call decorating and running a cash register working!) we got to shop!!! They had so many cute things at the boutique not to mention the fabulous sugar cookies we gorged ourselves on! We even found time one night to drive into Seattle and have dinner at the rotating restraunt on top of the Space Needle. By the end of the four days, I can honestly say I was exhausted, but I had such a great time!!!
Working the cash register!

Lindsay with our surpirse guest...Edward Cullen. He loved to watch us work!

Me and Lindsay on the plane ride home. Can you tell we were a little tired?!!
The one thing that could make this post better would be a picture of Lindsay, laying in the middle of the road on a pile of soiled packing blankets, half laughing, half crying, holding her ankle. Good memories!!!
