I made this!!

So if you look closely...my stitching isn't completely strait, but Owen loves this! My sister forwarded me the link to the pattern, so if any of you with babies want to make one-here it is! http://scanditute.blogspot.com/ I had to make a few minor adjustments to mine because I used backpack straps instead of making my own out of fabric. But the basic pattern is the same.

These pictures of me with Owen are courtesy of Taylor, so forgive the flashes in the background and my surprised, unsmiling expression. Owen acutally fell asleep in this. I didn't use the hood because he's too little for his head to flop backwards. But when he's bigger I think it will come in handy!

This is the reverse side. I used double sided quilted fabric. These can be reversible, but I didn't use designer fabric on the reverse side, so mine obviously isn't reversible.

This is the outside.

This is the picture of the waist strap put together. I used heavy duty velcro and a heavy, wide piece of black elastic so I could adjust it. You can also use 2" webbing (the adjustable material straps on the end of backpack straps) and a bigger clip.

Since I made this, I wanted to make sure it was strong enough to hold my baby and not fall apart, so I put Taylor in it and it held together!
If you want a fun project, check out the link above and try it out! And believe me...if I can do it, so can you!

I cut the back pack straps off of an old backpack we had...and it took me one day.

SOOO cute and I am SOOO impressed! I have no sewing skills what so ever. I love the fabric you chose too! Really, if I were going to have any more kids I would have YOU make me one of those! ;)

Cari, I never knew you could sew. That is really cool. Owen is getting so big. We need to get together soon.

So cute! I need a sewing machine...oh and I guess I need to learn to sew too! Haha...very clever! I totally should make one, or just have you make it for me ;). It's a whole lot cheaper than the $80 baby bjorn (sp?)!
