It's that time again. It came all to fast this year! The summer seemed to fly by and I don't feel like I got to do half the things I wanted to with my kids. But ready or not...it's here. The kids were so excited for their first day. I went to the school with them for a flag raising ceremony and watched them all line up with their classes and walk into the school. Then something totally unexpected happened. I got sadder and sadder as they disappeared into the school. I suddenly realized that Taylor would be gone the WHOLE day. Owen's 3 little buddies would no longer be around to play with/torture him...and vice versa! In fact, Owen will not leave my side now that the kids are gone! The house is way too quiet! I have heard of parents who cry when their kids go to school, but I have NEVER experienced that myself...until yesterday. I didn't actually cry, but I felt like it! I did not want to leave the school! I wanted to be a fly on the wall and watch them in their new classes. The past two days have been so weird for me. I feel like I need a project of some sort to occupy my time. If this is what empty nesters feel like I don't want it! But on the other hand, it was so cute to watch Alli and Caden tell Taylor everything he would get to do as a first grader...like play on the hill! They're all so grown up and cute! And I'm so proud of all of them!

Taylor is now in 1st grade and has Mrs. Thompson as his teacher. We absolutely LOVE Mrs. Thompson and were so happy when we found out Taylor would be in her class. All my kids have had her.
Caden is now in 3rd grade and has Mrs. Simmons

All is in 5th grade (reality check! Only 2 more years of elementary!) and has Miss Warner. Her class is a 5th/6th grade split...we'll see how it goes!

And not to be left out...our baby Owen. THANK GOODNESS HE HAS 4 MORE YEARS UNTIL HE GOES TO KINDERGARTEN! When he goes, I'm sure I will cry!
Here's to another school year!

All of your kids look so cute and grown-up on their first day of school! I am sure you are finding things to occupy your time now during the day while they are gone :) All of those projects you never had time to do before, and oh yeah - dishes and never-ending laundry!! Good luck with the new school year, and Happy Birthday to everyone in your fam :)
