To avoid a novel sized post of pictures and story telling, I'm going to split this post in two!
We have been wanting a new kitchen table for quite some time, but finally resinged to re-finish our existing table and chairs (which do not match each other). We decided to go to Gardner Village to look at different finishes on their tables. When we got to Down to Earth they were having a Labor Day sidewalk sale and we found a beautiful table top for $50! We decided we couldn't beat that so we bought it with the intent of using our exisisting table legs which we would re-finish along with the chairs. But, when we got home we

realized our legs wouldn't fit or support the table top. We also realized we had left our stroller at the store when we loaded the table top in to the car. So, we went back to get the stroller and saw our exact table in the their show room. We looked at the legs on the table and were taking pics on Matt's phone to see if we could have my dad make us some legs to match, when one of the workers said she could probably order us some new legs! What?!! Why would they sell the table top for so cheap when they could've just ordered some new legs and sold it for the $670 they were asking for the one in their show room? We opted not to question her and let her order us some new legs (which happened to be at their

warehouse a couple of blocks away and would only cost us another $170!) So we ended up getting a perfectly beautiful table for $440 off the asking price! Score! I then went to Calico Corner and found fun fabric to cover our nasty chair cushions and Matt painted our chairs! We love how they turned out! But...NOTHING in our house matched that green and purple! So began our quest to match the kitchen to our new chairs...

The before and after pics...
